Retaliation

UIC Guidelines on Prohibited Retaliation

At the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), our retaliation policy is crucial for maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for everyone in our community. This policy strongly prohibits retaliation against individuals who report concerns or participate in investigations related to discrimination, harassment, misconduct, or any violations of university policies. We firmly state that any form of retaliation, whether obvious or subtle, is unacceptable and will be promptly addressed.

Our procedures for handling retaliation complaints involve a thorough investigation led by trained professionals, ensuring confidentiality and protection for those involved. Additionally, UIC provides resources and support to individuals who may experience retaliation, including access to counseling services, legal guidance, and other forms of assistance.

By enforcing a robust retaliation policy and procedures, UIC underscores its commitment to fostering a culture of accountability, respect, and fairness throughout our university community.
